End of an Era

DHS Friends Has Closed The Doors

DHS Friends--the organization--is no more, but Dunn High School lives on and will continue to live in the memories of all who were blessed to walk her halls. As of September, 2020, DHS Friends, Inc. has been officially put to bed and is now history.  But MAN, did we have a good run?!

The corporation is dissolved, but more important, we have transferred all Endowments' funds and the administration of our three Endowment-Funded Scholarships to the local Harnett County Community Foundation.  Cumulatively, the DHS Friends Alice Tart Butler Baggett Scholarship Endowment, the DHS Friends Dunn High School Memorial Endowment, and the DHS Friends Hilda Crocker Wilson Scholarship Endowment are valued at over $160,000.  These perpetually giving endowments will forever honor the memory of Dunn High School through lasting, annual scholarship awards to deserving students with ties to the old Dunn High School.

Going forward, all DHS Friends' Endowments and Scholarships will be administered by the

Harnett County Community Foundation--Sandhills affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation.
